Brief Solution Focused Therapy

Short term counselling (approx 6 weeks) with a clear and measurable aim eg supporting people back to work after a period of absence

Psychological Debriefing

Psychological debriefing is a model used to help people process and resolve traumatic incidents. By providing Psychological First Aid, after a disaster or trauma has occurred, it is designed to reduce the initial distress caused by traumatic events, to normalise responses and foster short and long term adaptive functioning and coping.

It can be carried out one-to-one or in groups, and the process is covered in one session. Typically, this would last around one and a half hours with an individual person, and around two and a half hours with a group. Part of the session allows for psycho-education around the physiological effects of trauma, and an assessment of further recommended support.
